2021 Honda LPGA Thailand : LPGA Tour Golf Picks, Odds, Predictions 5/6/21

This week, The LPGA Tour continues it’s tour of Southeast Asia with the 2021 Honda LPGA Thailand.

Before I discuss my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA Tour event let’s take a look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a golfer’s success at this week’s 2021 Honda LPGA Thailand.

The 2021 Honda LPGA Thailand will be played at the Siam Country Club (Old Course) in Chonburi, Thailand. This golf course is a par 72 that measures 6,576 yards. This golf course will present this week’s field with wide generous fairways and rather large Bermuda grass greens. This track also has 101 bunkers that are strategically placed throughout the golf course.

It should be noted that the Sentosa Golf Club has hosted the Honda LPGA Thailand nine times since 2011. The 2020 edition of this event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The key player statistics that I will be focusing on this week are GIR (greens in regulation), driving distance, strokes gained tee to green, and strokes gained around the green.

For those readers that are not aware, this Sunday is Mother’s Day. Prior to turning our attention to my favorite golf bets for this week’s LPGA event I just wanted to give a tip of the cap to all the great mothers out there in honor of Mother’s Day. I want to specifically thank my wife Dawn for being such a great mother to our daughter and my mother-in-law Lee for being such a shining light on the entire family.

Ok, let’s get to what I love doing the most. Here are my favorite golf bets for the 2021 Honda LPGA Thailand!

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Amy Yang +200 – The 31 year old South Korean certainly fits the narrative of a course horse. Yang has played the Honda LPGA Thailand five time since 2011. In those five events just mentioned, Yang has an impressive four top three finishes, including three wins (2015, 2017, 2019).

Yang also checks the box for me when it comes to current form. Yang has three top 12 finishes in her last five tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a tenth place result at the LOTTE Championship last month.

Carlota Ciganda +150 – The Spaniard fired a final round 68 at last week’s 2021 HSBC Women’s World Championship on her way to a seventh place result. Ciganda also finished third at the 2019 Honda LPGA Thailand.

Ciganda currently ranks 18th in driving distance (271.89) and 15th in sand save percentage (61.29%) on the LPGA Tour.
