Air Force vs New Mexico College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/24/21

The New Mexico Lobos and the Air Force Falcons meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Clune Arena.

New Mexico enters this one at 6-13 so far. As for the Falcons, they’re sitting at 4-17 this year. This will be a rematch of Monday’s game featuring these teams. In that one, New Mexico powered out an eight-point victory. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

New Mexico had a pretty ugly run of games going recently, winning just twice versus Dixie State and San Jose State from the period of December 21 through February 19. The good news is that the Lobos notched a victory over Air Force on Monday.

In the 73-65 win over the Falcons on Monday, New Mexico’s Makuach Maluach notched 22 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Valdir Manuel added 14 points with two boards and two assists, and Bayron Matos had 13 points with seven rebounds.

Over on the Air Force side, it’s been a pretty ugly season for them as well. The Falcons were sitting at 4-7 after their last victory over Wyoing on January 16. They’ve since lost 10 straight to Wyoming, SDSU, San Jose State, UNLV, Fresno State and New Mexico.

In the loss to the Lobos on Monday, Air Force’s AJ Walker led the team on 26 points with three assists and two rebounds. Christopher Joyce added 16 points with eight boards and one assist, while Abe Kinrade had 15 points with six rebounds.

The Falcons are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight Wednesday games and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 after an ATS loss. Air Force is 1-5 ATS in their last six home games and 10-24-1 ATS in their last 35 overall.
Meanwhile, the Lobos are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 after a straight-up win. New Mexico is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall and the under is 10-2-1 ATS in their las 13 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with New Mexico, even though there’s not a lot to get excited about here. The Lobos shot a scorching 58.8 percent from the floor in the Monday game, and jumped out to a 32-25 halftime lead. New Mexico also had the edge in rebounds 37-22 and team assists 22-14, but coughed up 18 turnovers. I like the Lobos to post another good outing in this one for the cover/win.
