A matchup between the Chicago White Sox and Dodgers or a Tampa Bay Rays vs Dodgers showdown is likely to happen next at +950. Meanwhile, the first World Series pairing without the Dodgers is fourth with the Astros facing the Milwaukee Brewers at +1100 while a World Series between Houston and the San Francisco Giants is 5th at +1300.

A 2021 World Series featuring the Astros and Dodgers would be a rematch of the 2017 edition of the Fall Classic which Houston won in seven games. However, the Astros’ win has always carried an asterisk after they were found guilty by MLB investigators of stealing opponents’ hand signals during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
The Dodgers and Astros are currently the top two favorites to win the world series at the best MLB sportsbooks so it’s no surprise really that Bovada put them on top of their 2021 Wold Series matchup betting board. Los Angeles is a +320 at DraftKings and the Caesars Sportsbook, +300 at PointsBet and Bet365 while having their shortest odds at +280 via BetMGM. On the other hand, the Astros are next at +500 at DraftKings and PointsBet, +550 at Bet365, and are shortest at +475 via BetMGM and the Caesars Sportsbook.
But while these two teams are on top of the World Series odds boards, they are not on top of their respective leads as of this writing. Houston has a sizeable lead in the AL West but are still 2.5 games behind the Tampa Bays for the best record in the American League. Meanwhile, the Dodgers aren’t even on top of their division as Los Angeles is still one full game behind the San Francisco Giants in both the NL West and the Conference standings. Still, given that the star power and talent that these two teams possess from top to bottom, the oddsmakers like them to end up facing each other in the final series of the season.

The San Francisco Giants were the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season and they also currently have the best record in baseball at 99-54. However, the Giants only have the third best odds to win the World Series at +550 via PointsBet and are even just 4th at FanDuel (+700) and BetMGM (+700) with the AL Leaders Tampa Bay Rays in third spot. Heck, the Giants are even 6th at DraftKings (+850) with the Rays, White Sox, and Brewers having shorter odds than them.
As it stands, the Giants do not appear in Bovada’s Exact World Series Matchup until no. 5 when they meet the Astros in a pairing that is pegged at +1300. Interestingly, the Brewers facing the Astros is even more popular at +1100. More stunning is Milwaukee appearing in three of the Top 7 Exact World Series matchups at Bovada while the Giants only make the list once.
The AL leaders Tampa Bay Rays can relate to the Giants. Although they appear in one of the Top 3 at +950 vs the Astros, They maked the betting board only two times, or one less than the Brewers who are currently three games behind the Rays and eight games behind the Giants.
