Cavaliers’ Darius Garland Out Saturday vs. Heat

Darius Garland could miss some significant time, and it will start tonight against the Miami Heat. The Cavaliers guard sprained his left ankle in Friday’s blowout loss to the Washington Wizards.

Garland played just 20 minutes before stepping on Davis Bertans’ foot in the 122-93 home court beatdown. It would be a shock if the 2019 fifth overall pick didn’t miss at least a few more games since Cleveland has absolutely no incentive to rush him back at 21-42 on the season. Garland is having a career year in his sophomore campaign, putting up personal bests in points with 17.7 and assists, dishing out a team-high 6.2 assists per game.

Cedi Osman stands to gain the most in Garland’s absence. The 26-year-old has scored in double-figures in three of four games and played 30-plus minutes in three straight before Friday’s blowout. Osman is available in over 90 percent of leagues and can be had for $5700 at FanDuel.

The Cavaliers are +12 point home dogs against the Heat at FanDuel’s Sportsbook and carry a lotto like +540 on the moneyline.
