The Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls duke it out at the United Center on Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets have been in a rut lately as they’ve lost five of their past seven games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back into form after getting stopped by the shorthanded Trail Blazers in a 114-108 road loss on Monday. Kevin Durant led the team with 28 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Kyrie Irving added 22 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Cam Thomas chipped in with 21 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench. As a team, the Nets shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 32 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 36 points in the second quarter to take a seven-point lead into halftime, but it didn’t last long as they came out cold and managed just 19 points in the third quarter to allow the Trail Blazers to run past them in the end. Patty Mills had a forgettable game as he finished with just three points on one of five shooting in 31 minutes off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their past 11 games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the Pistons in a 133-87 loss last night. Nikola Vucevic led the team with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists, DeMar DeRozan added 20 points with 12 rebounds and seven assists while Lonzo Ball chipped in with 18 points and five assists. As a team, the Bulls shot 54 percent from the field and 18 of 34 from the 3-point line as they poured in 33 points in the second quarter to take a nine-point lead into halftime, before they ran away with it in the second half where they outscored the Pistons by an impressive 72-35.
Looking at the betting trends, the Nets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 0-7 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the under is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall and the Nets are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Chicago.
The Nets will again be without LaMarcus Aldridge, while Nic Claxton, James Harden and Kyrie Irving are all listed as questionable. The Bulls are coming into this almost at full strength and they’ve been playing some of their best basketball of the season. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Nets snapped out of their funk with a win here, but the Bulls have been the more consistent team and they represent decent value in this spot.
