Los Angeles had some trouble with the Brewers this weekend, falling 2-1, 3-1 and 6-5 in the first three games. In the Sunday finale, the Dodgers scored nine runs in the first two innings and cruised to a 16-4 blowout victory. Matt Beaty logged four hits with three runs and seven RBI in the win.
For the Monday matchup, Los Angeles will go with Walker Buehler on the mound. Over his five appearances so far this year, Buehler has 31.1 innings with 28 hits, 11 earned runs, four homers allowed, two walks, 31 strikeouts and a 3.16 ERA.
Over on the Cubs’ side, they fell in the Friday game to the Reds 8-6 but were able to eke out a 3-2 victory on Saturday. In the Sunday rubber match, Chicago bagged 12 runs on 14 hits but fell 13-12 in a 10-inning loss. Ian Happ and Kris Bryant combined for six hits, five runs and six RBI.
For Monday’s game one starter role, the Cubs are sending out Kyle Hendricks. In his five outings and 22.2 innings of work so far, Hendricks has 32 hits, 19 earned runs, 10 homers allowed, eight walks, 21 Ks and a 7.54 ERA overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Dodgers. Buehler was rolling right along this year before his last outing versus the Reds on April 27, where he gave up five earned on seven hits in 6.1 innings. As for Hendricks, he coughed up seven earned in 3.2 innings to the Braves, and oddly enough he’s got 14 earned in 7.2 innings versus Atlanta this season. I like Buehler to win the starter battle here and put LA in a good spot.
