The Los Angeles Angels and Chicago White Sox meet Wednesday in MLB action at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Angels need a win after losing six of their last eight games. The White Sox look for a win after splitting their last 10 games.
The Los Angeles Angels have scored eight runs in their last three games and three or less runs in four of their last eight games. The Angels have lost four straight games when scoring three or less runs. David Fletcher leads the Angels with 156 hits and 43 RBI while Jared Walsh and Shohei Ohtani have combined for 249 hits and 178 RBI. Janson Junk gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA and two strikeouts this season. This will be Junk’s first career game against the White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox have scored 19 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last nine games. The White Sox have won 10 of their last 11 games when scoring four or more runs. Tim Anderson leads the White Sox with 141 hits and 53 RBI while Jose Abreu and Yoan Moncada have combined for 256 hits and 162 RBI. Dallas Keuchel gets the ball, and he is 8-9 with a 5.33 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season. Keuchel is 12-2 with a 3.55 ERA and 95 strikeouts in his career against the Angels.
The Angels are 4-1 in their last 5 during game 2 of a series and 1-4 in their last 5 Wednesday games. The White Sox are 65-29 in their last 94 home games and 2-6 in their last 8 Wednesday games. The under is 7-3 in Angels last 10 overall. The under is 5-2-1 in White Sox last 8 overall. The Angels are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago.
The Angels are finding ways to lose more times than not and Junk will pitch in the big leagues for just the second time. Keuchel has been awful this season and he’s getting even worse lately, allowing 10 earned runs in his last 8.2 innings. I’m not thrilled about this pitching matchup at all, but it’s White Sox or pass. Obviously, I take the RL to shave down the ML price.
