The Toronto Raptors pay a visit to the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center on Friday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost eight of their past nine games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after getting routed by the Bulls in a 114-102 road win last night. Stanley Johnson led the team with 35 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Joe Harris added 17 points, Malachi Flynn scored 16 points with seven assists while Khem Birch chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 44 percent from the field and 12 of 36 from the 3-point line, but they rested all of their best players in this one which is why they were hardly threatening after falling behind by as many as 24 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their past 13 games overall and they will be hoping to stay hot after blowing past the Pelicans in a 125-107 home win on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 33 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 27 points on 10 of 18 shooting while Kristaps Porzingis chipped in with 19 points in 22 minutes of action. As a team, the Mavericks shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest in the second quarter where they exploded for 45 points, before holding the Pelicans to just 22 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 31 points. In what was a dominant win, the only blemish from the win was the play of Josh Richardson who scored just three points on one of seven shooting off the bench.
I will update with betting trends once they become available.
The Raptors have been in terrible shape and they have clearly said goodbye to this season as they’re starting to rest just about everyone, while the Mavericks have been in great form and are heating up with the playoffs just around the corner. The Raptors are clearly massive underdogs in this spot and they’re also playing this one on zero days’ rest, so I’m sticking with the Mavericks to get the job done in a game that clearly means more to them.
