The Vancouver Canucks and the Florida Panthers meet in NHL action from the BB&T Center on Tuesday night.
The Vancouver Canucks will look to add to a 5-2 win over the Seattle Kraken in their last game. J.T. Miller leads the Canucks in scoring with 36 points including a team-high 11 goals and 25 assists while Quinn Hughes has 28 points with a team-high 26 assists. Conor Garland also has 10 goals this season with a total of 23 points and the aforementioned Hughes leads the Canucks with a team-best +10 plus/minus. Bo Horvat’s also added 20 points with 11 goals of his own for Vancouver this year. Thatcher Demko’s seen the majority of action between the pipes for the Canucks, going 15-11-1 with a 2.55 GAA and a .920 save percentage this season.
The Florida Panthers will try to build on a 4-3 OT win over the Carolina Hurricanes last time out. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers in scoring with 46 points including a team-high 33 assists while Aaron Ekblad has 29 points with 9 goals and 20 assists as well as a team-best +21 plus/minus rating this season. Carter Verhaeghe has 28 points and Sam Reinhart has 26 points as well with Verhaeghe logging 10 goals and 18 assists of his own and Verhaeghe logging 8 goals and 18 apples. Anthony Duclair leads the Panthers with 14 goals as well so far this season. Sergei Bobrovsky’s gone 16-3-3 with a 2.57 GAA and a .917 save percentage between the pipes for Florida while Spencer Knight is 7-4-2 with a 3.39 GAA and an .896 save percentage.
Vancouver is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games as an underdog. Florida is 43-12 in their last 55 games as a home favorite and 45-18 in their last 63 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
I get why Florida’s favoured at home, as the Panthers have been almost unbeatable at home this season. However, the Panthers have looked mortal as of late, and like it or not, the Canucks have been on fire since the front office changes before Christmas. Too much value to pass on with the Canucks here.
