Hawks F De’Andre Hunter (Knee) Done For Season

Atlanta Hawks’ fans got some bad news on Wednesday as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that De’Andre Hunter’s season is over after opting to undergo meniscus surgery.

Hunter missed Atlanta’s first two games in the second round against the Sixers with swelling in his right knee. An MRI later revealed a small tear of his lateral meniscus.

This will be the second surgery on his knee just this season alone. After playing 63 games last year, the knee injury limited Hunter to just 23 games this season. However, he managed to play in all five playoff games against the Knicks in the first round and averaged 10.8 points in 30.4 minutes on the floor.

Solomon Hill has taken Hunter’s place in the Hawks’ starting lineup, but his 6.71 PER is significantly lower than Hunter’s PER at 15.75.
