Houston Rockets vs San Antonio Spurs 3/28/22 NBA Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Houston Rockets play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the Toyota Center on Monday night.

The San Antonio Spurs have been on a nice run as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight victory after outlasting the Pelicans in a 107-103 road win on Saturday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 21 points and eight rebounds, Josh Richardson added 18 points while Dejounte Murray tallied a triple-double of 15 points with 11 rebounds and 13 assists. As a team, the Spurs shot just 42 percent from the field and seven of 26 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Pelicans in a close contest until the fourth quarter where they went on a pivotal 12-0 run to pull away and escape with the narrow win.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have come to life with three wins in their last four games and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the slumping Trail Blazers in a 115-98 road win on Saturday. Alperen Sengun led the team with 27 points, seven rebounds and three assists off the bench, Jalen Green drained six 3-pointers to finish with 25 points while Kevin Porter Jr. chipped in with 10 points and 11 assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 52 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the 3-point line as they did all of their damaged in the second half where they outscored the Trail Blazers by 55-38 to win easily after the game was tied at halftime.

Looking at the betting trends, the Spurs are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight road games, 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Rockets are 23-52 ATS in their last 75 home games, 20-41 ATS in their last 61 games against a team with a losing record and 11-27 ATS in their last 38 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings overall, the Spurs are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Spurs are 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings in Houston.

The Spurs have come to life with four wins in their last five games overall and they looked good in their hard-fought win over the Pelicans on Saturday. The Rockets were one of the coldest teams in the league before their recent run of form and they will be full of confidence after beating up on the hapless Trail Blazers twice. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rockets pulled off the upset at home, but I’d rather stick with the more consistent Spurs to get the win and cover here.
