Ian Happ Out of the Lineup Thursday vs. Pirates

The Chicago Cubs released the lineup for Thursday’s road game against the Pirates, and not listed is outfielder Ian Happ. Happ was dropped from the lineup in favor of Jake Marisnick, who will patrol center field and bat sixth in the order. Happ has gotten off to a 2-16 start to the season, so perhaps the omission didn’t come as too much of a surprise to him.

Nonetheless, he’ll be disappointed with being dropped in what should be a festive atmosphere in Pittsburgh as they celebrate their home opener and welcome fans back into PNC Park.

Jake Arrieta will get the start for the Cubs, and Tyler Anderson will counter him for the Pirates. This game is already setting up as a classic Joe vs. Pro matchup as the public is all over the Cubs (-144) while sharps are siding with the home underdogs (+122).
