According to Will Guillory, Lonzo Ball has made his way back onto the New Orleans Pelicans’ injury list with ongoing hip soreness. Zo joins Brandon Ingram and Kira Lewis as questionable for tomorrow night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Zo recently returned from a seven-game absence and has been balling in his three games back. Over that span, Ball has accumulated 54 points, 13 rebounds, and 23 assists, or an average of 41.0 FanDuel Fantasy Points per game. Ingram’s absence relates to a toe injury that has kept him out of the last five games. Lewis has come off the bench in 33 games this season but has missed the last three with a calf injury.
The Pels have been riding James Johnson as the starting small forward, in place of Ingram, over the last three games. Johnson dropped 18 points and 47.9 FanDuel Fantasy Points in the first of those three games but followed that up with 17.4 and 22.2 FanDuel Fantasy Points in his next two. Johnson will be hoping to replicate the success he had in his first start against the 76ers Friday night.
Look for Isaiah Thomas to start at point guard if Ball can’t go Friday night. The Pels relied on Nickeil Alexander-Walker in Zo’s earlier absences, but he has since gone down with an ankle injury. Thomas is averaging 10.5 points per game since joining the Pelicans two games ago.
FanDuel Sportsbook has not yet hung a line on the game. Check back closer to tip-off.
