Godinez heads to this bout after defeating Ariane Carnelossi via unanimous decision at UFC 274 last May 7th. The victory was her second straight after opening her UFC career with a 1-2 record. Godinez also recorded a unanimous decision win over Looma Lookboonme in her return to the strawweight division last November 20, 2021.
The 28-year-old Mexican is a former BTC strawweight champion and LFA women’s strawweight champion. She joined the UFC in 2021 but was beaten by Jessica Penne via split decision in her UFC debut and lost on points to Luana Carolina two fights later. Overall, Godinez has a record of 8-2 with one knockout and one submission victory.
This marks the fourth time in five UFC bouts where Godinez has opened with the minus money sign written next to her name. She is however just 2-2 when opening as the betting favorite, losing to Penne at -300 odds and Carolina at -260 odds. She opened at +120 odds against Vanessa Demapolous bout closed as the -180 favorite in that bout.

Meanwhile, Hill is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Virna Jandiroba in her most recent bout at UFC Vegas 54 last May 12th. The defeat was the third straight for Hill who has now dropped four out of her last five bouts since the UFC resumed action after the COVID-19-driven shutdown in 2020.
The 37-year-old from Prince George’s County, Maryland is the no. 13 ranked strawweight in the UFC. Hill was a former Invicta FC strawweight champion who joined the UFC’s TUF 20 tournament in 2014. Since returning to the UFC in 2017, she has won only 7 times in 15 bouts. Overall, Hill has a record of 13-12 with five knockouts.
Hill is no stranger to opening with the plus money sign written next to her name. “Overkill” opened as the betting underdog in four out of her last six bouts. She has also won bouts after opening as the bottom dog. Hill opened at +110 odds when she defeated Arian Carnelossi and was also the +105 opening underdog against Hannah Cifers.
