The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Utah Jazz at the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday night.
The Utah Jazz have really cooled off with four losses on the trot and they will be hoping to get their season back on track after getting thrashed by the Mavericks in a 114-100 road loss on Sunday. Rudy Gay led the team with 18 points on eight of 14 shooting, Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson each scored 14 points while Donovan Mitchell chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they hit the ground running and led for most of the first half where they poured in 59 points, but the Mavericks took the momentum away with a 23-8 run in the third quarter which had the Jazz trailing for the rest of the game as they just didn’t get enough offense from their starters.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in a major funk as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a five-game losing streak after getting blown out by the 76ers in a 122-97 win on Friday. Amir Coffey led the team in scoring with 21 points on nine of 15 shooting, Isaiah Hartenstein added 16 points with nine rebounds and four assists while Reggie Jackson chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 40 percent from the field and eight of 25 from the 3-point line, but this game was over in a hurry as the Clippers got off to a terrible start and never had much of a chance after falling behind by 64-43 going into halftime.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 games against a team with a winning record, 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. The Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, 0-6 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the over is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings overall, the Jazz are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
The Jazz will again be shorthanded as Bojan Bogdanovic, Hassan Whiteside and Danuel House Jr. are all out, while Rudy Gobert is listed as day to day for this one. The Clippers have been in a season-worst slump and they will be desperate for a win to get their season back on track after getting dismantled by the 76ers in their last outing. The Jazz still have enough firepower to get the win even with all the injuries, but they are only 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 road games, so with the line so short, I’d rather stick with the Clippers to bounce back with a much-needed win here.
