The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Utah jazz at the Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night.
The Utah Jazz have been building nicely as they’ve won six in a row and they will be looking to stay hot after making light work of the lowly Rockets in a 135-101 home win on Monday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 30 points and seven assists, Bojan Bogdanovic added 22 points, Jordan Clarkson scored 16 points off the bench while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Jazz shot 55 percent from the field and 18 of 40 from the 3-point line as they dominated right from the start and never looked in danger after outscoring the Rockets by an impressive 78-53 in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a slump as they’ve lost seven of their past nine games overall and they will be hoping to snap a three-game skid after coming up short to the Warriors in a 117-115 road loss on Saturday. LeBron James led the team with 26 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, Russell Westbrook tallied 19 points with seven rebounds and five assists while Anthony Davis chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three blocks. As a team, the Lakers shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 27 from the 3-point line as they worked hard to lead by six late in the fourth quarter, until the Warriors closed the final 3:31 on a 14-6 run to snatch the game from them late.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. The Lakers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the Jazz are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings overall.
The Jazz will again be without Rudy Gay who is out with a knee injury, while the Lakers will be missing Carmelo Anthony, Avery Bradley and Kendrick Nunn, while Anthony Davis and LeBron James are both listed as questionable The Jazz look to have moved on from their slump as they’re on another win streak and this just looks like an opportunity that is too good to miss for the Jazz who will look to earn a statement win over the struggling Lakers while they’re banged up.
