Minnesota Wild vs Philadelphia Flyers 3/29/22 NHL Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Philadelphia Flyers and the Minnesota Wild meet in NHL action from the Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday night.

The Philadelphia Flyers will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 5-4 loss at the hands of the Nashville Predators last time out. Cam Atkinson leads the Flyers in scoring with 50 points including a team-high 23 goals, 27 assists and a +6 plus/minus rating while Claude Giroux has 42 points with 18 goals and 24 assists. Travis Konecny also has a team-high 31 assists as well on the year. Carter Hart’s gone 13-21-7 with a 3.04 GAA and a .909 save percentage in goal for the Flyers while Martin Jones has gone 8-13-3 with a 3.38 GAA and an .901 save percentage this season.

The Minnesota Wild will try to win their 7th in a row after a 3rd straight 3-2 OT win, taking out the Colorado Avalanche last time out. Kirill Kaprizov leads the Wild in scoring with 81 points including a team-high 36 goals and 45 assists while Mats Zuccarello has 67 points with 19 goals and a team-high 48 assists. Kevin Fiala has 59 points while Ryan Hartman has 50 points with 27 goals and Marcus Foligno has 19 goals as well this season. Cam Talbot’s gone 27-12-1 with a 2.80 GAA and a .911 save percentage for Minnesota this season.

Philadelphia is 13-39 in their last 52 games overall and 16-36 in their last 52 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a road underdog. Minnesota is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall and 43-14 in their last 57 home games while the under is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in certain spots, but there’s just no backing the Flyers as the Flyers are pretty much just playing out the string as the days wind down. Minnesota is back to playing some solid hockey and are really good at home. I’ll side with the Wild on the -1.5 puck line here.
