Nathan MacKinnon is week-to-week with a lower-body injury

The Colorado Avalanche will be without their top player for at least the next few games. Nathan MacKinnon will be evaluated regularly, but a week-to-week tag rather than a day-t0-day label is terrible news for Avs fans and fantasy owners. Colorado’s superstar was a definite high first-round pick in this year’s fantasy drafts and had been putting up top-level value. MacKinnon is third in league scoring with 14 points in ten games, trailing only offensive monsters Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaital. The 25-year-old was injured in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild. MacKinnon logged 15:24 of ice-time through two periods and recorded a pair of assists before exiting the game.
