The North Carolina A&T Aggies and the North Carolina Central Eagles meet Wednesday in college basketball action from McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
North Carolina A&T enters this one at 9-10 so far. The Aggies are 1-1 in their last pair and coming off a win over Florida A&M. As for North Carolina Central, they’re 4-5 this year. The Eagles have lost their last two games to Florida A&M. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
North Carolina A&T started out the year on a shaky 3-9 pace, but they’ve done much better since. The Aggies are 6-1 in their last seven games, taking out South Carolina State, Carver and Florida A&M (three times) during that stretch.
In the 70-63 win over Florida A&M on Sunday, North Carolina A&T’s Tyler Maye put up 14 points with six rebounds and one assist. Kameron Langley added 13 points with five rebounds and four assists, and Tyrone Lyons had 12 points with six boards.
Over on the North Carolina Central side, they haven’t been able to hit the court much this year due to cancellations and postponements. After a 1-3 start, the Eagles won three over Carver and South Carolina State before falling in their last two games to Florida A&M.
In the 60-47 loss to Florida A&M on February 9, NC Central’s CJ Keyser put up 19 points with seven rebounds in 36 minutes. Deven Palmer was also in double-figures on 15 points with four rebounds and one assist for the Eagles.
NC Central is 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four games as a favorite. The under is 4-1 in the Eagles’ last five overall and the over is 6-2 in the last eight home games.
Meanwhile, the Aggies are 1-4 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 as a favorite. The over is 4-1-1 in the Aggies’ last six Wednesday games and the under is 5-0 in their last five overall.
PICK: I’m sticking with North Carolina A&T. The Aggies have scored pretty well over this 6-1 run, notching 70 or more in five of seven games. The Eagles have a combined 97 points over their last two games, and haven’t been on the floor since February 9. It could take a while for NC Central to regain their rhythm so I like NC A&T better on the cover in this one.
