Kansas, Houston, Duke The Frontrunners

The Jayhawks became the most winningest program in NCAA history with their victory over #4 Providence in the Sweet 16 on Friday behind a 23-point night from Remy Martin. They came into the tournament as a clear favorite, but their March Madness odds improved from +450 prior to the Providence game to a +300 frontrunner as of right now.

Kansas did get off to a slow start in their contest against the Friars, but a big second-half run proved to be crucial for Bill Self’s squad. They will face Miami in the Elite Eight, a team who have defied all the odds thus far. A potential final vs. Duke lies ahead if it gets to that point.

The Cougars’ odds have absolutely skyrocketed since the Sweet 16 as well, going from +1000 to +400. After all, this Houston team was in the Final Four last year before losing to eventual champions, Baylor. The Cougars are familiar with this stage but they will have a stern test in the Elite Eight, taking on #2 Villanova. Heading into Saturday’s matchup, Houston is riding a six-game winning streak while going 9-1 in their last 10 games.

Coach K’s storybook ending is inching closer and closer as he wraps up his final NCAA Tournament. Duke has seen their odds drastically shorten as well, sitting at +1000 just a few days ago to +450 to win the NCAA Tournament currently after their win over Texas Tech on Thursday.

Projected lottery pick Paolo Banchero continues to lead this electric Blue Devils offense, averaging 19.3 points, seven rebounds, and four assists on a stellar 53% three-point clip in three outings in the Big Dance. Arkansas, who just took out #1 overall Gonzaga, awaits Duke.

All three are heavy favorites when it comes to the NCAA odds to make Final Four.

Huge Movement For Saint Peter’s, North Carolina

There is always one team who makes a heroic run in March and this time around, it’s the Peacocks. Crazy enough, they were at +20000 ahead of the Sweet 16. Heading into their showdown with UNC, Saint Peters now sits at +5000 odds. It’s a bit of a longshot to think Shaheen Holloway’s squad can win a title, but the fact they’ve beaten the likes of #2 Kentucky and #3 Purdue is impressive in itself.

North Carolina was expected to be in a transition year after the retirement of Roy Williams, but the Tar Heels are proving all the doubters wrong, eliminating UCLA on Friday behind a huge showing from guard Caleb Love, balling out for 30 points. They’ve also gone from +2000 to +600 at the moment but won’t have it easy against Saint Peter’s.
