PointsBet Canada has found another creative way to connect with its new Canadian customer base after announcing an exclusive partnership with the Trailer Park Boys in a press release Friday. The multiyear deal will include the Trailer Park Boys in an authentic content collaboration, advertising campaigns, activations, and special VIP-style events.

The hilarious cast of the hit Canadian TV comedy series captivated audiences north of the border with their ridiculous antics for 12 seasons and produced a handful of successful movies. The running mockumentary follows the struggles and misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, who have keen interests in hockey, gambling, and substance abuse. The series was shot in Canada’s maritime province of Nova Scotia.

“Our mission from day one has been to build a sportsbook as authentically Canadian as poutine,” said Nic Sulsky, chief commercial officer of PointsBet Canada, in the release. “And nothing says Canadiana more than the Trailer Park Boys. We are thrilled to have Bubbles, Ricky, and Julian join Canada’s Sportsbook to bring fans a new, innovative experience.”

The Trailer Park Boys have won a number of screen awards in Canada and have a close connection to the Canadian hockey community. Hall of Famer Peter Forsberg and NHLer Nathan MacKinnon have made cameos with the Trailer Park Boys, who were also pumped to meet proud Nova Scotian Sidney Crosby back in 2018.

PointsBet in Canada

Australian-based PointsBet has created a Canadian division, PointsBet Canada, that is operating out of Toronto, Ontario. PointsBet has its North American headquarters in Colorado and is the official sports betting partner of NBC Sports. Ontario is expected to open its market to private operators like PointsBet Canada in February or March of this year.

PointsBet announced a deal Monday with the NHL Alumni Association after previously inking partnerships in the fall with Curling Canada and two of its teams — Team Kevin Koe and Team Kerri Einarson.

“Whether it is Curling Canada, the NHLAA, or the Trailer Park Boys, we are committed to building a brand and identity that acknowledges the little intricacies that make us all proud to be Canadian,” David Rivers, vice president of marketing for PointsBet Canada, concluded in the release.

Currently, Canadian sports bettors can only legally wager with provincially run lotteries.
