Tennessee-Martin vs Tennessee Tech College Football Picks, Odds, Predictions 4/11/21

The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks meet Sunday in week 9 FCS college football action at Hardy M. Graham Stadium.

The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles look for a win to rebound from their 2-4 record. Willie Miller is completing 56.2 percent of his passes for 668 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions. Miller and Bailey Fisher have combined for six touchdowns and nine interceptions. Kurt Taylor Jr. and Quinton Cross have combined for 246 receiving yards and one touchdown while Bradley Clark has 12 receptions. The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles ground game is averaging 125.7 yards per contest, and Taylor Jr. leads the way with 249 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Tennessee Tech is allowing 24.3 points and 303.7 yards per game. Seth Carlisle leads the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles with 45 tackles, Chris Tucker has 2.5 sacks and Josh Reliford has two interceptions.

The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks look for a win to build on their 2-4 record. John Bachus III is completing 57 percent of his passes for 1,432 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Donnell Williams and Colton Dowell have combined for 799 receiving yards and six touchdowns while Rodney Williams II has 24 receptions. The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks ground game is averaging 70.3 yards per contest, and Peyton Logan leads the way with 327 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Tennessee-Martin is allowing 24.5 points and 343.7 yards per game. Deven Sims leads the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks with 53 tackles, Kameron Bowdry has two sacks and John Ford has two interceptions.

The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles are coming off probably their best performance of the season, but overall this team has struggled to finish drives and has come away with the short end of the stick more times than not. The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks have had heir issues as well, but they’ve been consistently more competitive this season and have a bit more explosiveness on the offensive side. Turnovers will be key in this game, as the club that takes care of the ball will likely be on the winning side.

Still, I’m going to give the edge to the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks at home.
