Toronto Maple Leafs vs Calgary Flames NHL Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/22/21

The Calgary Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs meet in NHL action from Scotiabank Arena on Monday night.

The Calgary Flames will be out to rebound from a 7-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in their last matchup. Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm each have 17 points with Gaudreau logging 9 goals and 8 assists while Lindholm has 5 goals and 12 helpers. Sean Monahan has 12 points with 10 assists while Matthew Tkachuk has 11 points with 5 goals and 6 helpers. Rasmus Andersson has 10 points with 3 goals and 7 assists as well on the year. Jacob Markstrom continues to lead Calgary in goal, going 8-7 with a pair of shutouts and a 2.87 GAA on the year.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to add to their strong start to the year after a 5-3 win over Montreal last time out. Mitch Marner leads the Leafs in scoring with 30 points coming on 9 goals and a team-high 21 assists while Auston Matthews has 29 points with a team-high 18 goals and 11 assists. John Tavares has 17 points with 11 assists and Morgan Rielly has 16 points with 14 assists, the same amount of overall points that William Nylander has. Frederik Andersen continues to start in goal for Toronto, going 11-5 with a 2.69 GAA on the year.

Calgary is 1-8 in their last 9 games as an underdog and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Toronto is 11-3 in their last 14 games overall and 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 14-5-1 in their last 20 games as a home favorite. Calgary is 2-6 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams in Toronto.

The Leafs are absolutely rolling right now and while the Flames getting plus money sounds like a decent option, the fact is that the Flames are struggling right now and don’t have any way to give the plus money and value right now if we’re being honest. The Leafs are just white hot and to be honest, this price is actually pretty light given the form of both teams. I’ll take it with Toronto in this spot.
