Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers NBA Picks, Odds, Predictions 1/1/21

The Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz do battle at the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form to start the season and they will be looking for a third straight victory after blowing past the Trailblazers in a 128-105 home win on Wednesday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 28 points and seven assists, Paul George racked up 23 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists while Lou Williams chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 49 percent from the field and an efficient 18 of 38 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 37 points in the first quarter, before pushing out the lead to as many as 30 points.

Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz are searching for consistency as they’ve split their first four games of the season and they will be hoping to bounce back after last night’s 106-95 home loss to the red-hot Suns. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 points, Rudy Gobert added 18 points with 14 rebounds on seven of nine shooting while Mike Conley chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Jazz shot just 41 percent from the field and 12 of 34 from the 3-point line as they started slow and were always fighting an uphill battle after getting outscored by 32-18 in the second quarter.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Jazz are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the Clippers are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and the Clippers are 8-19-1 ATS in the last 28 meetings in Utah.

The Clippers have been in great form since they got blown out by the Mavericks as they’ve reeled off two massive wins over the Timberwolves and the Trailblazers. The Jazz are still looking to get out of second gear and I don’t like their chances against this motivated Clippers outfit. The Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest and I think that trend continues here as the Clippers roll once again.
