West Virginia vs Oklahoma State 1/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the West Virginia Mountaineers meet in college basketball action from the WVU Coliseum on Tuesday night.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys come into this one looking to build on their 64-51 win over Texas last time out. Avery Anderson III leads the Cowboys in scoring with 11.6 PPG while Bryce Williams has 11.5 PPG and 3 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for Oklahoma State so far this season. Kalib Boone has 8.6 PPG and Bryce Thompson’s got 8.3 PPG while Isaac Likekele has 7,2 PPG with team-highs of 6 RPG and 3.8 APG to lead the Cowboys in rebounding and assists this season. As a team, Oklahoma State is averaging 73.2 PPG on 44.4% shooting from the field, 28.4% from three and 66.3% from the foul line while allowing 65.8 PPG on 39.5% shooting from the field and 33.1% from three this season.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to add to their 71-68 win over Kansas State in their last game. Taz Sherman leads WVU in scoring and assists with 20.4 PPG and 2.6 APG while Sean McNeil has 14.8 PPG to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for WVU so far this season. Jalen Bridges also has 7.6 PPG and 5.1 RPG while Gabe Osabuohien has 5.4 RPG to lead the Mountaineers on the glass. As a team, West Virginia is averaging 69.6 PPG on 44.5% shooting from the field, 32.4% from three and 63.7% from the foul line while allowing 61.4 PPG on 41.7% shooting from the field and 30.5% from three this season.

Oklahoma State is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 road games. West Virginia is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the over is 21-6 in their last 27 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the case that could be made either way here, but I’m leaning towards West Virginia at home. The Cowboys showed up in a big way against Texas but outside of that, I haven’t been overly impressed with what I’ve seen from the Cowboys to this point. West Virginia doesn’t have the same punch it’s had in years past, but they’re still a solid team that’s playing the better basketball by a mile and I think they’re worth the play at this reasonable number.
