Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers MLB Picks, Odds, Predictions 6/14/2021

The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Monday in MLB action from Miller Park. The Reds are coming off a weekend series versus the Rockies. Cincinnati won the first two games, then in the Sunday finale the Reds managed a four-run victory for the sweep. As for the Brewers, they played the Pirates over the weekend. Milwaukee also won their first two games, and in the Sunday finale the Brewers took a three-run win for their own sweep. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Cincinnati won their series versus the Rockies over the weekend, taking Friday’s game 11-5 and Saturday’s 10-3. In the Sunday finale, the Reds posted three runs in the seventh inning to cap off a 6-2 win. Tony Santillan went 4.2 innings with one earned on five hits and four walks.

For the Monday starting pitcher role, the Reds are sending out Vladimir Gutierrez. Over 17.0 innings of work so far this year, Gutierrez has 11 hits, five earned runs, one homer allowed, eight walks, 13 Ks and a 2.65 ERA.

Over on the Brewers’ side, they also got a series win this weekend, beating the Pirates 7-4 on both Friday and Saturday. In the Sunday finale, Milwaukee kept it going with a 5-2 victory.

For the starter job in the Monday game, the Brewers are going with Eric Lauer. This year over seven games (four starts), Lauer is 1-2 with 30 hits, 19 runs (15 earned), nine walks, 33 strikeouts and eight homers allowed in 28.0 innings.

The Reds are 8-1 in their last nine Monday games and 4-1 in their last five versus a lefty starter. Cincinnati is 5-2 in the last seven in game one of a series and the over is 4-0 in their last four Monday games.

Meanwhile, the Brewers are 6-0 in their last six in game one of a series and 16-5 in their last 21 overall. The over is 8-2 in Milwaukee’s last 10 with the total set at 9.0-10.5 and the under is 11-3 in their last 14 with the total set at 11.0 or higher.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Reds. Milwaukee is currently riding through a stretch of 16 games without a day off, and Lauer is serving as the team’s sixth starter for that span. As for Gutierrez, he threw 102 pitches in seven innings during his last outing, posting just two earned on six hits and three walks. If Gutierrez can come up with another quality start here I think Cincinnati will be in great shape.
