Derrick Rose Out Sunday

Derrick Rose will remain out Sunday, missing a matchup between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers, due to the league’s health and safety protocol.

Rose has missed eight games because of the protocol, last playing in the Knicks’ 109-90 win against his former team, the Detroit Pistons, on Feb. 28. Playing 32 minutes in the win, Rose scored 14 points, three rebounds and five assists.

Expect Elfrid Payton, Immanuel Quickley, Alec Burks and Frank Ntilikina to see additional usage with Rose out of the lineup. Quickley is currently listed as questionable with an ankle injury ahead of Sunday’s game, and Payton is dealing with a lingering hamstring injury. Ntilikina has played in the starting rotation. He has averaged 19 minutes, nine points, one rebound and one assist as a starter.

The Knicks, with a 21-21 record, are third in the Atlantic Division, behind the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. They are currently +19000 to win the NBA Championship on FanDuel Sportsbook.
