Report: Eagles Could Draft a Quarterback

The Eagles already appear to have too many quarterbacks on the roster, but ProFootballFocus’s most recent mock draft has the Eagles selecting another quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft. In fact, they actually have the Eagles trading up to No. 3 overall to select Justin Fields.

Philly currently has the sixth pick in the draft, but they could add more draft capital by trading Wentz. Ron Jaworksi reports that the Colts have offered two second-round picks for Wentz, but no team has been willing to meet their initial asking price of two first-rounders.

Moving up to No. 3 would require the Eagles to make a deal with the Dolphins, who currently own that pick via the Texans. The Dolphins are one of the most intriguing teams this offseason. They have a playoff-caliber roster, with the lone exception being the quarterback position. They could run it back with Tua Tagovailoa — who was once considered an elite prospect in his own right — or they could use the No. 3 pick to draft a replacement. The Dolphins are also one of the favorites to land DeShaun Watson if the Texans are forced to move on from him.

One thing that is certain? This should be an exciting offseason.
