Target these NBA Player Prop Bets on Friday, June 18

NBA Player Prop Bets

We have two more playoff games scheduled for Friday — which means more NBA player prop bets! Both contests are Game 6’s, which means one team in each series will have a chance to advance. The Hawks will get their opportunity to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference finals vs. the 76ers at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the Clippers will have a chance to wrap up their series vs. the Jazz at 10 p.m. ET. Both teams with a chance to clinch are playing at home, but both teams are listed as underdogs.

These games can be tricky to handicap, so why not focus on the player prop market instead? Player props can be useful in multiple ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash) or to measure a player’s potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball. Here we’ll focus on utilizing our projections and a slew of other tools to help make money betting player props.

For this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint spots where value can be had tonight.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Trae Young Over 12.5 rebounds + assists (-122)

Young did most of his work as a scorer in Game 5. He finished with 39 points to go along with just one rebound and seven assists.

That makes him an interesting buy-low option on Friday. Young has played at least 40 minutes in each of his past two games, and Young averaged 10.1 assists and 4.2 rebounds per 36 minutes during the regular season. He’s operated more as a scorer and less as a distributor during the postseason, but I still think this line is a bit too low.

Donovan Mitchell Under 32.5 points (-116)

Mitchell has been fantastic this postseason, establishing himself as a true superstar. That said, I think there are reasons to target the under on Mitchell’s scoring prop on Friday. For starters, he’s clearly operating at less than 100%. He’s currently questionable with an ankle injury, and while he’s expected to be in the lineup, he hasn’t been quite as effective recently. He’s shot just 37.7% from the field over his past three games, and he’s averaged just 29.3 points in those contests.

Additionally, Mitchell might not need to carry as much of the scoring workload on Friday. Mike Conley has missed each of the first five games in this series, but ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Conley is hoping to return to the court. He’ll need to make it through pre-game warmups, but Conley’s return could hurt Mitchell as a scorer.

Marcus Morris Over 22.5 points + rebounds (-113)

The Clippers pulled out a surprising win in Game 5 of this series, giving them a 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6. They were without Kawhi Leonard in that contest, and they’ll be without their star player once again on Friday.

Morris was asked to take on a larger workload with Leonard out of the lineup, and he came through in a big way. He delivered 25 points on 10-16 shooting from the field. He’s likely due for some regression in that department in Game 6, but he should be able to make up for it with a better performance as a rebounder. He finished with just two rebounds over 40.4 minutes in Game 5, but he averaged 5.6 rebounds per 36 minutes during the regular season. I like the idea of grabbing the over on his points + rebounds prop for that reason. Even if he has some shooting regression, I still like his chances of going over the current number.
