The Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors do battle once again at the Amalie Arena on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been in a rut lately as they’ve lost four of their last six games and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting rolled by the Raptors in a 110-103 road loss on Sunday. Ben Simmons led the way with 28 points, nine rebounds and five assists on nine of 11 shooting, Joel Embiid added 25 points with 17 rebounds and two blocks while Tobias Harris chipped in with just 13 points on six of 17 shooting. As a team, the 76ers shot just 38 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they led early in the fourth quarter before going ice-cold to allow the Raptors to go on a pivotal 18-5 run to steal momentum and the game.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in great form for a while now as they’ve won nine of their past 12 games and they will be aiming for a fifth straight victory after Sunday’s tough win over the 76ers. Pascal Siakam led the team with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, Fred VanVleet added 23 points with nine assists while Chris Boucher provided the spark off the bench with five 3-pointers on his way to 17 points on six of eight shooting. As a team, the Raptors shot 49 percent from the field and 14 of 34 from the 3-point line as they hung tough in a close contest, until breaking free with a barrage of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 13-36-2 ATS in their last 51 road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The Raptors are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the under is 5-1-1 in the last seven meetings overall and the 76ers are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Toronto.
The 76ers have been able to rely on the scoring of Embiid and Harris lately, but those two combined to shoot just 12 of 37 on Sunday which was the difference in a close contest. The Raptors are the team in better form and they are tempting as the slight underdogs in this one, but Kyle Lowry is still listed as questionable for this one. It’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row and I think the 76ers will come out swinging in this one, so that’s where I’m leaning here.
