Six Flyers Players Remain in Quarantine with Matchup vs. Rangers Looming
The Philadelphia Flyers haven’t had any team activities in seven days since team captain Claude Giroux tested positive for COVID-19. The Flyers then went into quarantine — shutting down their practice facility and cancelling their next four games. Philadelphia reopened their facility yesterday with just 16 players as they’re expected to resume their season tomorrow when they host the New York Rangers.
The six players expected to miss tomorrow’s game include Giroux, Travis Konecny, Jake Voracek, Oskar Lindblom, Scott Laughton, and Justin Braun; each player remains the league’s COVID-19 protocol. The Flyers are expected to utilize some taxi squad players to have a complete team in preparation for the game.
Philadelphia is currently third in the East Division with 18 points while the Rangers are seventh with 11 points. The Rangers will enter the contest on a four-game losing streak.
